Steven Gerrard for England (v Andorra), 28 March 2007

I am not sure why I invited Swiss to contribute here, to be honest. First he confessed to not actually being a football fan, then he preferred to post about cricket and then admitted to not liking watching the international side.

Heh heh heh. At least you get both sides of the debate, I suppose....

Predictions time again:

Bolton 2-1 Sheff Utd
Charlton 2-0 Wigan
Fulham 1-1 Portsmouth
Liverpool 1-0 Arsenal
Man Utd 2-1 Blackburn
Newcastle 3-1 Man City
Watford 1-1 Chelsea
West Ham 1-0 Middlesbrough
Tottenham 2-0 Reading
Aston Villa 2-0 Everton

and some wildcards from the Hamptons:

Wolverhampton 2-1 Southampton
Northampton 2-0 Brighton

Football is liked and watched by all sorts of people. Not all of them go to watch non-league away games on a wet tuesday night in Dundee. No fan is worth more than any other and all fans should be (and are) welcome here. You would be (and have been) the first to complain about a music blog that seemed to be catering to some sort of indie elite and was snooty about those people who bought chart music.

Anyway, predictions:

Bolton 1-0 Sheff Utd
Charlton 2-1 Wigan
Fulham 2-1 Portsmouth
Liverpool 1-1 Arsenal
Man Utd 2-0 Blackburn
Newcastle 2-1 Man City
Watford 0-2 Chelsea
West Ham 1-1 Middlesbrough
Tottenham 2-1 Reading
Aston Villa 0-0 Everton

and some wildcards from the Hamptons - my home town team and the team I have the great misfortune to support! excellent:

Wolverhampton 2-2 Southampton
Northampton 1-0 Brighton

Hmm, noone guessed the correct Wolves scoreline then??! It does seem, Swiss, that whenever you pick them out as a Wildcard they lose hopelessly. I do hope this predictions league isn't tied up in a match-fixing scandal..

don't think the wolves score had escaped my notice. Every time I turned on the tv this weekend, Southampton were scoring another goal (although that lob was something special).

We're 6th in the table and they're still 7th. That's the worst home result I can remember.

Lord B picked the wildcards this week, incidentally.
