Wayne Rooney for England (v Denmark), 17 August 2005

Righto, folks. The predictions league is reset and open for business. Anyone who wishes to join in, please be our guest....

Here's this weeks matches:

France 5-0 Faroe Islands
Northern Ireland 0-1 Azerbaijan
Scotland 0-2 Italy
Wales 0-2 England
Sweden 2-1 Bulgaria
Armenia 1-3 Holland
Portugal 5-0 Luxembourg

and wild card

Nottingham Forest 1-2 Brentford

And what's this? Sven deciding to change his formation to get Beckham, Lampard and Gerrard into the centre of midfield and get a couple of pacy skilful players into the side? How many years late?

Jesus - who has been saying that England are amongst the favourites for Germany 2006? Not with that side, I don't think. How does Beckham make the madrid side any more? If he won't do what he's good at (i.e. laser guided passes from the right wing), then drop him for someone who will. Surely wright-phillips offers more?

Well done N. Ireland though, and so close for the jocks too. Great effort though.
