I have to say that this one of the most horrendous things I have ever seen on a football pitch. Ruud van Nistelrooy walking over to see if he was OK and reeling in horror as he saw the damage to Alan Smith's leg was quite, quite awful.Get well soon, Smithy.

They had to hold up the game whilst they mopped the blood up. Big Peter Schmeichel needed counselling.
All the same, nasty injury.
By the way, doesn't the reaction of the players when someone really gets hurt put the reaction of the divers into perspective?
