Weak PK call against the US called by a German dentist. Then, an bear hug on Viduka garners no call from Poll. Never mind the "who's card is it?" debacle later that same game.

Oh, yeah, FIFA's directing the referees, for certain--directing the game right down the toilet in the process.

that was one of the funniest performances by a referee I have ever seen. On the match of the day highlights, Lee Dixon and Alan Shearer could barely conceal their delight. Apparently Poll once disallowed an Alan Shearer goal.... apparently he's never forgotten it.

What would have happened if Croatia, or even better that bloke, had scored and put Australia out?? I bet you FIFA wouldn't have replayed the game. They were lucky the "right" team went through.
