Darren Bent for Charlton Athletic (v Sunderland), 13 August 2005

Right, folks. Predictions time for this weekends Premiership. 3 points for the correct score, one for the correct outcome. And don;t forget the lessons from the opening weekend:

Chelsea might find it harder than we thought
Wigan looked less like cannon fodder than predicted
Sunderland are going straight back down with no points

Birmingham 1-0 Man City
Blackburn 2-1 Fulham
Charlton 3-0 Wigan
Liverpool 3-0 Sunderland
Man Utd 2-0 Aston Villa
Newcastle 2-1 West Ham
Spurs 1-1 Middlesbrough
West Brom 1-0 Portsmouth
Bolton 2-2 Everton
Chelsea 1-3 Arsenal

I'll go for Leeds 0 Wolves 1, incidentally (mainly as I went for Wolves to win Division One).

I was out this afternoon actually, and I missed all the scores. On the way home, I stopped off in the Stratford Haven pub, about a 5 minute walk from the City Ground. It was full of Forest fans, and I tried to guess what the score was from their demeanour. They all looked pretty cheery, so I thought they must have won, or at the very worst drawn.

I was quite surprised when I saw what the actual score was.

I was also pretty surprised in town this afternoon by how many people have forked out for the new strip. Sean Ingle on the Guardian Sports website is so right - football fans are such mugs.

Swiss & Bargain - you appear to live frighteningly close to myself. Stratford Haven, Pearl Bar, & Southbank all in my neck of the woods!

dom - I feel I must stress that Lord B and I do not live together.... but I live a stones throw from those hostelries, yes. Lord B a little further afield.
